*Frequently asked questions*
How can I contact you?
Yay! Id love to hear from you! You can contact me via phone: 575 749 0470, email: firstname.lastname@example.org or via the contact form. You can also contact me via my facebook page if you wish.
When should we book our session?
I typically tend to be booked 4 to 6 weeks in advance and weekend sessions are the first to fill. Due to the time and intensity of custom portraiture, I only accept an exclusive number of clients each month. Holiday sessions begin occurring August through November and are typically booked up by September. It is never to early to book your holiday session, especially if you need a weekend date. All sessions are by appointment only. To book your session you can call me at 575 749 0470 or send me a note through the contact page.
What kind of sessions do you do?
I photograph infants and children of all ages and family’s. Be ready for something different and a whole lot of fun! I do not shoot boudoir, weddings, high school seniors or engagements but know some extremely talented local photographers who do and would love to pass on their info to you.
Do you have a studio? Where will we do our session?
I do not have a studio, I shoot mainly on location. Essentially the location is up to you depending on what area of Alamogordo or cloudcroft you prefer, the type of session, and the style of session you prefer. For example, with a country style shoot the location will usually differ from that of an urban style session. I have many favorite locations and I am always scouting for new ones. I will help you decide on a location during your consultation if you do not have one chosen. Please note that when photographing newborns, I typically do the session inside the comfort of your home where it is cozy and warm. We can also venture outdoors if you would like and the weather permits. Most newborn sessions will take place in the morning within the first 10 days of life, all other regular portrait sessions will start approx 90 minutes before sunset or During the hottest months at sunrise.
What are your fees?
My session fee is $125. This is due at your pre-session consultation. After your session your images will be uploaded to a private, password protected online gallery where you will then choose which images you would like to purchase. I have packages available.
What is the consultation about?
A consultation is where we meet in person before your session and the fun begins! Its a great time for me to meet your children and its where we will plan out session details. Its a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have or voice any concerns. We will chat about everything…your family, your kids, your home, your style, your portrait and decorative needs. You will also receive your Welcome Packet at this time.
Do you offer CD/Digital files?
Yes! I offer various collections including prints and digital files.
How can I have my products, clothing etc photographed by you?
Just shoot me a email with your name, info and website and id love to chat more!
What if my child gets sick or we have bad weather on the day of my session?
No problem. I am a mother and understand this happens. Just please notify me as soon as you notice symptoms of illness so that I can reschedule your session for the nearest available open date. As for the weather, I certainly know neither of us has control over that and we will reschedule accordingly.
Why is custom photography so expensive?
This is a great article explaining this: http://www.professionalchildphotographer.com/information/?page_id=16
Professional, personal photographers are just that—professionals. No different than a mechanic, dentist, doctor, or electrician. But a personal photographer often becomes a friend, someone who documents a family for generations with professional, personal photographs of cherished memories.
Maybe if you look at it this way: A pair of scissors costs $1.50 at the drugstore. Still, most people will gladly pay a lot more to hire a professional hair dresser to cut their hair.
The added attention and quality that a personal photographer gives is worth every penny.
Do you offer a payment plan?
I believe that everyone deserves quality portraits to pass on down through their family. So yes! I do offer a payment plan. We can discuss this more at your pre session consultation if this is something you are interested in.
